Welcome Home Elvis is a 260 page photo and information book covering the weeks in 1960 where Elvis regained control over his career. The format is the same as the well-known FTD book format (King Creole : The Music and A Moment In Time). The book includes: More than 300 photos, many of them previously unpublished, text by David English and a CD with the original mono master for 'Elvis Is Back!'.

David English : The idea first came to me to write an article about the Elvis Is Back Sessions, which then became too large, and it then expanded over a period of two years. This originally consisted of mainly text of each song having a detailed history, with songwriters, musicians, (in the form of the book 'Writing for the King') The book then expanded further to include the Sinatra Timex show and now consists of the journey to Miami using original newspaper articles, which have probably not been seen since they were originally written.
The book then moves back to detail the remaining Nashville recordings.
I sent a test book out to a few experts for feedback, and the response was very positive. I then managed to hook up with Pal at Flaming Star. This is where the project grew, as he was able to help in finding and getting licence's for all the images, including the 'Sinatra TV Show', the unseen backstage Miami photo's and the Commercial Appeal, photo's. Pal then showed the project to FTD, christmas 2011, and now with a mono CD of Elvis Is Back, which Ernst has used from the original mono master recently found in the UK.

The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
